Carlin Peas have a superb nutty flavour and firm texture, making a great alternative to chickpeas or Puy lentils. They're great in soups, stews, curries and salad (see pic above), pairing well with roast vegetables.
They are naturally low in fat yet offer 23g per 100g of both protein and fibre. They contain a wide range of nutrients, notably manganese, molybdenum and the B group of vitamins, especially B1

These are absolutely wonderful, such depth of flavour ! They are also a fantastically versatile pulse, hummus, dhals, even the red carlin cake recipe that can be found here is brilliant. Please try them, you won't be disappointed.

Divine! I had never eaten these before and what a revealation! The flavour reminds me a lot of Chestnut, so I have plans to use them in a variety of baked goods, both sweet and savoury, in the coming weeks. I have made a number of delicious meals and snacks with these beauties so far and all have been enjoyed by other members of the family. I really love them, as you can probably tell!
